I had an excellent experience with Dr. Gerbrands and De Haar Hair Restoration. I was diagnosed with androgenetic and fibrosing alopecia, which was stressful, but from the beginning I felt supported and understood.

Dr. Gerbrands is caring, empathetic and highly knowledgeable. She took the time to explain my condition clearly and walked me through treatment options with patience and encouragement.

The staff at the clinic are friendly and welcoming. Every visit felt comfortable.

I had multiple consultations with Dr. Bea before I was ready to move forward, and her team was patient with me the entire way. The genuine care and attention from everyone, office staff, nurses, and Dr. Bea herself, took the stress right out of the process.

The staff was very nice but my hair transplant has gone horribly. I got the two transplants in 2024 and neither was successful. Ive talked to other doctors and they have told me that I should have been on Minoxidil and Finasteride at least 1 year before starting a transplant to make sure the drugs are effective. Unfortunately the doctor at this clinic did not inform me of this and started my medications only a few weeks before my hair transplant and my hair continues to thin after nearly 2 years on the medications. I deeply regret getting my transplant here because neither have taken well, leaving me with a patchy look at my temples. I sincerely wish I would have just shaved my head instead. People comment on the strange look of my hairline and I feel embarassed and disfigured just walking out and about.

The worst thing is that I see that other people have great success from other clinics with transplants larger than mine. So I genuinely feel that I made the wrong decision.

Unfortunately I cannot even shave my head bald because the transplant has left white scars on the back of my head leaving a pepper like pattern. I am stuck in this limbo zone where neither is a good option. I was never informed of this by the doctor so I feel distraught about the whole situation.

Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. They dont care if youre brown , black, or white,  everyone is welcome..  Im glad that I went to this clinic to get help for my problem. I searched around for quite a while on options for my thinning crown. I even looked into toupee’s, and found that a good one was quite expensive, and there was frequent maintenance required. Plus, I have never seen one that fooled anyone. Then I looked into hair transplantation. I am a believer in google reviews and found DeHaar in Regina. If you get a referral from your family doctor, you save money on a consultation fee, so I got one. Being from Saskatoon, I was pleasantly surprised that my dr had heard really good things about Dr. Gerbrands work. That brought me some initial hope. Then I had a my first virtual appointment with her….and immediately I had trust in her after a virtual appointment. She has a very caring and thoughtful approach. She asked what you hoped to attain from surgery, and then she gives you her input on what she thinks will work for you. I was losing the top of my head quite quickly, and really didn’t want to wait too long. Her treatment plan suggestion was using a combination of 2 treatments FUT & FUE. Then she sends you a quote and how many grafts she thinks you will need. I had the money on hand for the surgery so I was booked in 2 weeks from my decision to do something for myself. I paid $7,250 for the surgery, and bought a red light therapy laser from the clinic to support the surgery and help it grow in better. There was 3 types and I went with the middle choice. That was extra. The day of surgery I was quite nervous, but the Dr and the whole team treat you like a king, which makes the whole experience very tolerable. I was relaxed the whole time and even slept a bit during the procedure. The Dr makes sure you are pain free throughout, and would top up my freezing as needed. I felt frozen for days after. The next day you are taught how to care for your grafts as they are not solidified for a few weeks as I can remember. As part of the quote, they give you all the stuff needed to care for your scalp. For me, she felt she could give me better results it she shaved my whole head. That was a surprise, but if you want the best outcome, you listen to the doctor. It has been 7 months since my surgery and just had my second follow up with Dr Gerbrands virtually, (which is super helpful that I didn’t have to drive 5 hours return in winter. ) It is great for her to see your progress and it truly makes me feel and look 10-15 years younger. People close to me ask if I have lost weight? But don’t know it’s my hair as the Dr makes sure she “frames “ your face so it looks natural for your age etc. it is your own hair, so you can style it the way you want. Cut it and it grows back!!
